Rope is a common product in various fields such as fishing, maritime activities, agriculture, aquaculture, and daily life. However, few people are familiar with the information on ropes when choosing and purchasing the right product. Let's explore how to read the specifications on the ropes below:

Diameter: The thickness of a single strand of rope can be considered a circle, so the rope's diameter indicates the strand's size. The diameter of a rope can range from a few millimeters (mm) to several hundred millimeters (mm). Understanding the diameter of the rope is crucial for choosing a product that suits your needs.

Strand: is a complete fiber twisted together from yarns; however, a single strand is not strong enough to withstand tasks requiring high tensile strength. Therefore, strands are used to be braided together to form a complete rope. Typically, a rope is braided from multiple strands, mainly 3-strand rope, 4-strand rope, or 8-strand rope. The more strands twisted together, the stronger the rope, but it also makes the rope braiding technique more challenging.

Color: This is an easily readable specification, as many products on the market display color. Nowadays, ropes come in a variety of colors. Some common colors for ropes include light brown, yellow, red, etc. Today, many companies offer the option to dye ropes according to customer preferences if there is a specific need.

Density (gram/meter): In rope products, weight is measured in grams per meter (g/m). The larger the diameter and the number of strands, the greater the weight.

Length: In rope products, the standard unit of measurement is usually meters per coil (meter/roll). Some common coil sizes produced by rope manufacturing companies include: 200m/roll, 220m/roll, 100m/roll, etc.

Tensile Force (also known as the tensile strength of the rope) - The tensile force of a rope product is measured in kilograms of force (kgf). Kgf is a unit of load measurement, where kgf stands for kilogram-force. This unit is used to measure the tensile strength of the rope. It is the most critical parameter of the rope, and understanding this specification is essential for selecting a rope product suitable for work needs, especially tasks requiring high tensile strength.
Denier: Denier is the weight in grams of 9000 meters of fiber, and its symbol is "D" For example, if a rope specifies 3000D denier, it means the fiber, when stretched to 9000 meters, weighs 3000 grams. This specification is often used for agricultural twines. Twine, as the name suggests, is a type of rope twisted or braided together.
